In some places there was no choice but to use the ferry (me on the Bogness ferry)

The journey down through the Fjords of Norway's West coast offers spectacular scenery and great biking roads

The ferry gave us a chance to admire the view and have a coffee break.

The Arctic Circle Centre in Norway (this one was open). The altitude seems to have more effect on snow than how far north you are.

As you can see by the car park ... not a lot of visitors in May And yes it was raining at the Arctic circle ! hard to believe we were on the Bogness ferry this morning in bright sunshine.
BY the next morning the rain had stopped . REflections in the lake behind our Hytta
Not all of the waterfalls are tall and thin. Lunch break at the side of the road.
No chance of getting run-over ...... from here onward to the highest drivable pass in Norway As the pass got higher the snow got deeper and it started to rain.
Higher still and the mist is closing in .. and .. its starting to snow. The higher we went the worse it got, eventually it snowed. At The top ... cold, wet, windy & snowing .. is this a good place to be on a motorbike ?
Stopping on one of the passing places on the hair pin bends gave a view down into the valley. Look how the clouds hang in the valley
Mike admiring the view and being glad we made it over the top. An early stop today, my 100% waterproof, breathable boots have let in the water..urrg. A hytta for the night, looks like a gingerbread house from a kids fairy tale !
View from the "gingerbread" house Everything is getting greener as we come south. Mike drinking peanuts !!!
A little de-tour to see a Glacier THis is the unmanned tol road to the edge of the glacier, you leave your money in a "post box" and close the gate behind you.
We were the only people here for most of the morning. It doesn't look far to the glacier, but it took Mike an hour and 50 minutes to walk there and back. I made coffee and had a Mars bar.  After all that walking mike decided to shed a few layers outside the visitor centre... this photograph was taken about 20 seconds before a coach load of pensioners turned up.
The visitor centre The  strange shaped roof of the visitor centre is made entirely of wood. A quick stop to admire the view
An hour later and we reach the worlds longest road tunnel 24.5 Km North of Bergen this maybe the longest road tunnel in the world but it comes after a series of tunnels that are close to it. I estimate we drove 50 Km underground on this day. Beyond the tunnels the village of Flam is out of a fairy tale..... and no signs of a tea room or souvenir shop
Even the mountain looks as if its from a kids story This water fall was about 300 feet deep ! Serious water fall
Back amongst the fjords, the views from the shadows ahow the steely blue of the water steel blue sky, steel blue water, white clouds and dark shadows. The night before the ferry ride home. ... almost dark at 11: oclock
The water front in Bergen. We had most of the day in Bergen as we waited for our 16:00 ferry, and a very nice place it was. Waiting for the ferry on Bergen water front.
